Gesso, Gesso and Cathy Nichols Stencils from StencilGirl

Just a quick little post to tell you how excited I am about a NEW artist we have over at StencilGirl. Her name is Cathy Nichols and WOW!!!! does she have some FUN stencils to plan with! Not only that, her Encaustic Art is AMAZING!!!! I played with these the other day and I can see using them over and over and over again! SO many elements to choose from in 7 stencils!

I wanted to start my Week #2 DLP Documented Life Project--the challenge Gesso. I had prepped my page with DecoArt Black Gesso a few days prior and it was sitting there ready to work with. I am a huge fan of black Gesso and this was the first time I used the DecoArt Media variety. Let me tell you, it DID NOT disappoint! Totally matt (I love that in black Gesso), smooth and didn't show ANY brush marks! LOVE it!

Not much of a process to this one. What could be better on black Gesso...well you guessed it! White Gesso!!!! Stencils, Gesso and call it done...well I may add some of my own touches to the page, but for now I just want to look at it like this!

You can find these stencils HERE.

  3. Beautiful pages! The black and white for a journal page is excellent and I may have to do a B&W page at some point for DLP or just in a journal. This is my 1st time participating in DLP and I'm loving it so far.
