Art Journal Page Venetian Style

Did you see this new stencil released today from

I thought I'd show you an art journal page that I made with
it the second (literally) that I got it!
Here is a little of the process:

I was drawn to the ovals on the building immediately. I guess my love of circles. I wanted faces looking out. I took a extra fine Sharpie and outlined the stencil onto the page. I stamped a stamp from Lost Coast Designs on deli paper and cut out the faces and glued them in my art journal over the ovals.

But....that oval was still calling me.....what else can I do with it??? I know, make a background! I just traced the 3 ovals over and over around the building in pencil. Why pencil?? Well..I did it 2 other times in pen and kept getting distracted (nothing new here) and kept drawing over the building :)

After I was done with the pencil, I took a blue extra fine point Sharpie and free hand outlined the pencil marks and erased. Next step some watercolor.

To finish it off, some doodles with a Faber Castell Pitt pen.

Thanks for stopping by today!
