Go Where The Peace Is....

Welcome to another edition of Artsy Fartsy Friendly Fun with my friend Carolyn Dube and I. This is our last challenge of 2012. I have to start this by saying my project is not done, however, I am so very happy with the way it is turning out. I am going to take my time with it and just see where it goes.

The wording on my canvas come from a piece of advice that Melody Ross gave me last week. I really, really took it to heart. Of course, everything Melody says I take to heart but this one struck me at a time when I so needed it. This will be my mantra for 2013. I am going to try to only bring the things into my life that bring me JOY and PEACE
Thanks Melody for always saying the right thing at the right time.

With that I will tell you our three products for the challenge:

White Space

I started out with a 12" x 12" canvas and I covered it with Brave Girl Tissue Paper.

I then used the Artiscellar Stencil with Molding Paste to give me the design and texture all over the canvas.
I die cut my saying several times and glued each letter to eachother to make a thick letter.
When they were done I added gold to the edges and some streaks to the front.
 My Bling for the challenge.

Now it's time for me to send you off to Carolyn's Blog to see what she did with these three products....but before that....

Happy New Year!

PS: also uploading this to Fall Fearless and Fly.....the prompt for this week had me thinking how much meaning my project really has to me.

  1. How perfect that you have the words peeking through the stenciling! That tissue paper is beyond amazing here! I love that your heart and soul is in this! The cathedral window reminds me of the amazing feelings I seem to have when traveling and I see those incredible stained glass windows-perfect feeling to go with your words "Go where the peace is". 2013 is going to be a year full of peace and joy for you. I am so thrilled to be your friend!

  2. Pretty awesome design Maria! keep it up - go where your heart leads you-Have a safe and healthy. I love it.
Happy New year to you and your family
    DIANA L.

  3. I'm loving that I can see the words peeking through the stencil. And that saying is definitely a keeper. Love the fit between the saying and the byzantine motifs in the stencil. Gorgeous page, and can't wait to see where you go with it. I'm so glad you and Carolyn do this challenge as it always inspires me!

  4. Your project is very interesting, and certainly are good words to live by. Wishing you a very happy new year!

  5. Absolutely stunning Maria, this is so powerful a piece. Happy New Year. xox

  6. Beautiful piece, Maria. What a way to end the year :)

  7. I love the depth of the letters and the stenciled windows beneath. I haven't been to the Brave Girl store, but will definitely check out that tissue paper. Love this "Peace"!

  8. This is so rich. I love your stenciling and the text peeking through. What a wonderful sentiment, as well!

  9. What a lovely piece of artwork! The quote really resonates with me, too. I love how you combined the elements together and that tissue paper is awesome. :)
