It's hard a Christmas when your kids are teenagers.....it sort of seems like some of the "fun" of the holiday is gone.....but yesterday all the "magic" came back to me for a little while.....
Usually after the big baklava/cookie extravaganza in my house I don't ever want to see a cookie again. This means it is time for Alexx to make some of her "faux" turtles. These don't go on our cookie plates. They get stored in the freezer (I mean sunroom) and people randomly get "lost" in there at any given time trying to find one or a cookie or two.
I was so tired, but she insisted on my help. We laughed so hard I almost pee'd in my pants, LOL! Of course, Casey not far in the distance was waiting for one of the finished products and got some of it on camera because he thought we had lost our minds--nothing new in my house.
Alexx refusing to move because I walked away on the first pan and it got a little "over done" one of the reasons we were laughing so much.
My ever ready sampler!!!
Need a fast treat??
Any shape pretzels, this year we used the square grid ones--usually we use the round ones.
Put parchment paper on your baking sheet. Place a rolo on each pretzel. Put in 350 degree oven just until the chocolate looks "shiny", take out and immediately push a pecan on top. Let cool. YUMMY!
