Where The Heck Have I Been????

I think the better question is where haven't I been, LOL! My life has been in a whirlwind for the past few weeks. Thought I'd share a little from my personal life....
It started on Mother's Day...I had a fantastic day with these people....
Of course my dad and husband were there too....but it was a great day to be a mom :)
Two days later my Traci and I left for North Carolina for Donna Downey's Inspired event!! I was so excited to go and let me tell you I was NOT disappointed. I loved each and EVERY minute of it!!!
We came in early so we could visit Donna's very own store that she opened. It is really small, incredible and jam packed with goodies.  I am ashamed to say that I spent WAY more than an human should in this store. Donna was there and it was so good to see her again.
We also came in early so we could do a day of classes that were going on before the event started.
Yes!!! I finally got to meet Christy Tomlinson! I am a huge fan and she was incredible! I could have taken her two classes that we did, went home and been happy....but I'm so glad we didn't :)
We had so many classes but I had to show you this next picture of Traci with Suzi Blu. She SO didn't want to go to this class (and I SOOO did). In the end she finally did and ended up I'm pretty sure having a really good time. Suzi ended up sitting with us at our table most of the class and helping Traci along. Suzi liked her so much that she gave her a original piece of artwork. All was good!
I was a VERY happy girl!!!! Thank you Donna and Bill Downey for an incredible time. The only thing missing was Patty :( SO wish she could have been there with us....I would love to post my projects but unfortunately they are still in the bags because I was home for about 60 hours and then I got on a plane with my family for Boston!!!

My dad's life long dream has been to see the Chicago Cubs play the Boston Red Sox at Fenway park. I have heard about this since I was a little girl. It is also a dream of my son's. A few days before this past Christmas they announced a Cubs Destination trip to Boston. Guess what my dad and Casey got for Christmas???!!! YES, we booked the trip. It was a whirlwind of events for 4 days. My head is still spinning, LOL!
We went to two games, Friday and Saturday. They even won the one on Saturday which was incredible for my dad and Casey. On a Saturday they took us on a tour of Fenway--we even got to go inside the Green Monster!!
On Friday morning we left my mom and dad to rest at the hotel and the four of us went on a Duck Tour of Boston and then a tour of Harvard.
Alexandria has aspirations of going to Harvard and had to visit. Do you think her failing freshman Geography is going to inhibit her ability to get in, LOL! Actually, she is a very good student (when she wants to be) and I hope her dreams come true!

During our tour we got to have lunch with a Cubs player! Darwin Barney joined the group and let me tell you I think we have FINALLY converted Alexandria to a Cubs fan. She couldn't get the smile off her face the whole time she in the same room as Darwin.
After the lunch and tour was over we dropped my mom and dad back at the hotel and made a run to Mike's Pastry for cannoli's. I had to have one while we were there. It was just hilarious...between the cab rides to and from, tips, and the cannolis it cost us $100!! And....seriously there was nothing special about them. I guess we already have top quality canolli's in the Chicago area :) Of course we did buy a few more than you see here....we had to taste test them right????
I am so happy we were able to do this trip for my dad and Casey.
It was a dream come true!
Sorry, not much crafting going on here.....still have a few trips to accomplish in the next few weeks. I will be back for the My Pink Stamper Blog Hop and post in a few weeks and hopefully I will get to post some of my Inspired project pictures soon :)
Have a great Memorial Day weekend!!!

  5. Maria-
I heard it through the grapevine that you have been very, very, very (did I say, very?) very busy...and this proves it. So glad you got some well-deserved family time booked. It's okay to take a break from being creative for a while. It makes you that much more so when you return to your love of crafting!
Hope we can get together soon and chat...give me a buzz when you have some free time (i.e. when the kids go back to school!)
    Lots of hugs!

  6. Holy moley girl! You have been quite the busy one! What a fabulous time you must have had with DD and your Boston trip looks so amazing! I adore Boston and what fab pix and family memories you have. Can't wait to see you scrap 'em. I've missed you, though. I haven't been the best at visiting my buddies blogs, lately but I hope to remedy that soon. xxD
