Just What I Needed.....

So I guess I sort of lied (not intentionally of course) break wasn't as long as I had intended. Was it long enough?? A great BIG NO! But.....sometimes, as I have been finding lately, you can't control just need to let them happen..

To try to get myself back into the flow I went back to my greatest love (art wise of course) mixed media. I spent this last Friday night and all day Saturday at the store I teach at Creative Cuts and Crafts not teaching but actually being a student and I LOVED it!!!! We had Mixed Media artist Linda Cain come in for some classes. She was formally on Tim Holtz Design Team and let me tell you she did not disappoint. I sat there in my little world all by myself and played. Patty was going to do the class on Friday night but ended up with a migrane :( and Traci was out of town at a wedding :(

This is what I made.....even though the concept was the same for the was AMAZING to see how different everyone's turned out. I start with my least favorite....but still really love how it turned out. It will be a present to my mom for Mother's Day this Sunday. The pictures are my parents on their wedding day.
The next is my second favorite and I'm afraid the pictures don't do it justice....I just loved how it turned out. It is a chunky ATC. It just makes me smile. It is sort of like a little guy standing there looking at me :) I really had fun adding some extra details to this one.
And finally, my favorite.......if anyone would ask what I love the most to do....this is it!! For this one the teacher had given us all little pieces of paper, some pieces of chipboard cut in the shape of the three houses and some findings, showed us a few examples a and let us create....
So......hopefully I have inspired you a little to do what is in your heart.....

Please join us on Saturday for the My Pink Stamper National Scrapbook Day Event. It will be an ALL day event. We will have fabulous videos, projects, prizes and challenges EVERY hour!!!!
