Guest Designing for Everyday Cricut....Day 1

Hi Everyone! I am taking a one week break from Bitten By The Bug 2 (my apologies to my Design Team Girls there--I'll be back next week for sure) because I am the Guest Designer this week for Everyday Cricut.
Please join me there for projects everyday this week.
I will have a give-a-way at the end of the week here on my Blog--so make sure and check back then.

I had so much fun in October when I spent the week Guest Designing for Everyday Cricut and I thank Joy and Melanie for having me back again now :)
Actually, I think Joy and Melanie just needed a break to recover from their cruise, LOL!
Did anyone notice that I'm not cruising and doing alot of Guest Designing for people on Cricut Cruises???!! I am hoping they all had a FABULOUS time!
Just kidding--let's get started with our project for today.
I decided to keep this one pretty simple to start out. Mother's Day is coming so I thought I make a card and be READY!
I just received Kate's ABC's and I just LOVE it! I thought this would make a perfect Mother's Day card. No difficult techniques, just some great cuts.
To make the frame and card base, I used the Lovely Floral Cricut Lite cartridge. I hid contour on the inside square of the cut and welded the card base together on my Gypsy. For the pink frame, I just decreased the size of the base and cut it out without hiding any of the contours. I ran the frame through the Cuttlebug with the Plum Blossoms Embossing Folder. As you can see in the picture above, I sometimes do some crazy things to get it all embossed. In this case after I was done, I just put the corners back in without rolling it all the way in. This is my plea to Provo Craft--PLEASE make a BIG Cuttlebug and folders :)
The only other thing I did to personalize it a little was to weld MOM into the purse top layer with my Gypsy.
I added some "pearls" with the Viva Decor Pearl Pen in Ice White and Stickles in Lime on the Hat.
I hope you enjoyed my simple card.
I'll be back tomorrow with a project with my Imagine.
See you tomorrow!

  5. So super cute! I just bought the Viva Pearl Pen and you did a great job - it can be tricky to get the dots all the same size! Also, I agree - let's all beg Cuttlebug to make it bigger! I'd love it in a full 12x12 size for some of my layouts! I'm your newest follower!
