Is There A Doctor In The House??

LOL! Well there is in our house.....
This was 5:30 in the morning yesterday. Jim tried to go to work, but only made it to the end of our driveway and got TOTALLY stuck. As you can see in the picture the snow was up to the hood of the car in the front. Well 2 1/2 hours later, and a "Rocking the Car Lesson" for me, we finally got the car back in the garage (where I might add, it should have stayed originally). This is what I saw out our back window when I woke up a few minutes before this happened. Why anyone would attempt to drive through snow at this height is beyond me!!

So, after we thawed out a little we got our teenagers--who I might add were basically hidding unlike most kids on a snow day because they were afraid of snow shoveling duty--to do some work. This is what it looked like 3 hours later...did I mention we have a VERY long driveway!
They finally let me take a picture of them--why, because one they were done with their work and two it is a snow day and three--because they know better than not to let me take one or two or twenty--who's counting??? :-)

So, YES, there is a doctor in my house....we will see what he tries tomorrow! For the kids, it was announced that they have another Snow Day! Hope you are all safe and warm!

  1. Oh wow!! That's A LOT of snow!! Stay warm...& enjoy the snow day tomorrow!! :)

  2. Lol!!! what a crazy fun family day, it is amazing what our doctors think about doing lol! and you are soooo lucky to have the 2 teenagers still at home, I am down to one and he will be out the door soon to the military :) so happy that you all are safe and love the pictures

  3. Wow! That's a lot of snow. My son is going to be 14 and can already sleep the whole day away if I let him--LOL! Something about that age I guess!

  4. Oh my gosh! I had forgotten how deep it could get. Twenty years in SC has made all of that a distant memory, lol.

    Stay warm!!

    xx Susan

  5. OMG!!! It's been awile since I saw snow like that. They keep talking about the blizzard in '67 and I was there. Remember trying to walk home from the Jr. HIgh in the middle of the street because it was so bad. Fun times. Don't miss it! Stay warm! (Great crfting days!) xxD

  6. Looks like my house!! It's incredible how much snow came down.

  7. Wowser!!! I am so glad I live in the South!!

  8. That's one thing I don't miss about Illinois!! ;)

  9. Crazy but FUN snow day for your family! Keep warm! :o)

  10. Too funny Maria!!! Talk about snowed in! I did that once, decided in a snow storm to take the kids to a well check appointment, made it there, barely, but while we were there it kept snowing and snowing, and trying to get back into the driveway I got stuck half way up! Told the kids, we are HOME! Get out lol! Just left the car there for the hubby to deal with!

  11. wonderful stuff, love the colors you used!
Thank you for sharing all your ideas!
