Bitten By The Bug 2 is back from our break....

It is a brand new year and the Bitten By The Bug 2 Design Team is back with a new challenge. This weeks cut was picked by my fellow Design Team member Karen. She asked us to use the Hummingbird on the Lyrical Letters Cricut Cartridge. This is just another example that sometimes we miss images on cartridges. I would have never known about this little bird if it wasn't for Karen!
I cut the hummingbird out at 2.75 inches on Bazzill White Smoothie cardstock and decided to color it with Copics. I didn't spend too much time on the coloring--just sort of a quick flicking of the marker :-)
I cut the branch in brown from Home Decor at 3.5 inches. I then cut the layer of the branch in white and cut away the flowers and added them to my previous branch.
With Sympathy is from the Wild Card cartridge and cut at 1.5 inches Real Dial Size. The embossing folder is Swirls from Tim Holtz and the size of the card is 8 inches by 4 inches.
There are some great projects over at Bitten By The Bug 2 with this little hummingbird. Please go see what everyone else has come up with this week!
Have a great Monday!

  1. Beautiful, Maria! I kept thinking mine would end up being a sympathy card too but then I got lazy and used the sentiments from a Cuttlebug die. LOL Love the swirls behind and you brought that cut to life with your coloring. xxD

  3. Great minds think alike. We both decided to cut in white and color our hummingbirds. I love how you added the branch. I almost did a sympathy card too, but then thought a Thinking of You sentiment could be a little more multi-purpose. Fantastic job on your card!!!

  10. What a beautiful card Maria! When I first seen it on the BBTB2 blog I thought it was feathers, very dimensional looking. Love how you used the copics (I really need to get some of those, lol) Love the embossing also, great touch!

  11. What a lovely card, Maria! It was my daughter's favorite of the week! I love how dimensional it looks. Wonderful idea to use that sweet hummingbird on a sympathy card. I struggle with those so hopefully I will remember to scraplift this at a later date!!

  12. Maria, this is beautiful....... The card is just perfect for someone needing some comfort. Sympathy cards I think are difficult because when we design, we are trying to see the pain in someone's life. Your card is wonderful, and when it is received it will be cherished.
