Bitten By The Bug 2 Challenge and Blog Hop!

Today The Bitten By The Bug Design Team has a challenge and a Blog Hop at the same time!
If you came here from Theresa's Blog you are in the right place!

I got the honor to pick the challenge this time.I asked the Design Team to use more than one heart from the Seasonal 2010 Love Struck Cricut Cartridge to make a scrapbook page. I also told them that if they weren't a scapbooker it was totally fine to make a card. AND..if they didn't have Love Struck they could use heart(s) from any Cricut Cartridge. Now you can join in on the challenge and upload your project to the Bitten By The Bug 2 Blog and play along!

The reason I picked heart(s) was pretty obvious with Valentine's Day coming up...but the reason I picked a scrapbook layout is that lately I feel that I have been loosing my passion in this paper crafting world we play in. I am a scrapbooker--always have been and always will be. I love mixed media and have put my passion for it aside. I have somehow turned into a card maker. Now, I'm not complaining--I love making cards but it is not what is inside of me begging to be let out. Well...NO longer, I'm starting TODAY! This is my first step, make a scrapbook page, document, tell the people in your life how very much you love them--remember the little things--appreciate each and every day on this earth. Okay, enough of my personal ramble....here is what I made....
Yep, pretty basic--simple even in my eyes, but it does have the most important thing--part of me.
I decided to spray my hearts with Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist from Luminarte. I love this stuff! Just a dab of my mixed media trying to come through....In case anyone is wondering, I keep this cardboard box in my scrapbook room and do any kind of "spraying" in it. I have gone through many, although they sometimes look too pretty to throw away after all the different projects.
In honor our my first time picking the challenge over at Bitten By The Bug 2 I have a give away. Just a little reminder of using the things I LOVE that are just sitting there begging me to play....
Leave a comment with your contact info by 10PM Central  Time on Tuesday, February 1st and you might be the lucky winner of some Grunge!
I would love to hear if you have a passion in this paper crafting world that you have put aside!

Now it is time to "Hop" on over to Shelly's Blog and see her wonderful creation!

  2. Your layout is very pretty, a lovely couple! I started out a cardmaker, and never thought I wanted to be a scrapbooker, but now I do and I am very intimidated by the whole concept. I even made this my New Year's goal(so far no go LOL) Thanks for sharing(what you called ramblings)today you are so right!! Have a fantastically crafty day.

  4. Very beautiful layout design and love the Shimmer must llok into that, I to had lost my way with my scrapbooking and thats when I made Sunday my scrapbooking day and that was the only thing I would work one and I just love it, I don't feel stress with myself when I look around and see all the pictures that I need to put away and as I make cards during the week if I have extra cuts then I try to use them in my design. Thanks for the inspiration and looking forward to more layouts :)

  5. Wonderful LO. I too am a scrapbooker and I spend hours cherishing my many photographs into albums. I have a monthly scrapbook gathering I attend and I come away feeling very happy that I have honored those photos into layouts.. Love your LO, Marie.

  7. What a beautiful layout. I started papercrafting as a scrapbooker but also have been making more cards and altered projects lately. My New Year's resolution is to scrapbook more. I would love to get my son's baby book done by summer, he is three now:) I started it over a year ago but I set it aside to work on other projects and cannot seem to get back to it. So, I have a crop coming up where I have started to do little page kits to work on for his book.

  8. Beautiful layout, Maria and thanks for the great challenge! (also thanks for allowing us non-scrappers an out. LOL) I was thinkin' that you meant at least 2 DIFFERENT hearts form the cart but as you see I chose to ignore that in my project. LOL LOVE the different hearts you chose, however. Fabulous, my dear, and so is the pic! xxD

  25. Love your LO! I just picked the Love Struck 2010 cart back up to play with. It was one of the first cartridges I bought. Love it. I started out scrapbooking as well. Joined a scrapbooking club and have tons of LO's without pics. I got into card making and LOVE it so much! I just don't have much to scrapbook.
